It’s market season!October 20, 2017
One of my favorite things to do (usually solo without kids!) is to stroll a market on a sunny weekend morning! I don’t really go for anything in particular, I just love getting up early, grabbing a coffee from one of the delicious coffee vans and strolling the grounds looking at all the quirky and gorgeous things these talented people create! Throw in some live music from a local artist and an extremely overpriced potato on a stick and my weekend is made!
Here is a list of local markets happening this weekend!
EMU PLAINS MARKET (MY FAVE!) – Coolart Rd, Balnarring – typically held on the third Saturday of every month from October to April 9am to 2pm.
In the most gorgeous setting among the stringybark forest of Emu Plains Reserve, save some time for this market! Soooo many talented finders and makers, and the stalls are very different to all the other markets – think boho/hippy/natural – it’s super cool! And the food – OH THE FOOD!
Boneo Community Market – Cnr Limestone & Boneo Rd Boneo. Third Saturday of the month from 8am – 12noon
Sorrento Makers Market – Ocean Beach Road – 10am – 3pm
Set in the heart of Sorrento on Ocean Beach Road, this European boutique market experience will see the main street sprinkled with handpicked original artisans, gourmet producers and wine makers. Take a leisurely stroll through the village, stopping along the way to sample fine foods, meet the makers behind the handcrafted products and take in the market atmosphere.
Frankston Sunday Market – 79-83 Young Street, Frankston. Open Sundays, 8:00AM–1:00PM
Bittern Sunday Market – Bittern Railway Station. 9am – 1pm
Bittern Country Market opens with more than 80 stalls selling new and used goods, craft, plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables, food, coffee and much more.
Mt Eliza Farmers Market – Cnr Mt Eliza Way & Canadian Bay Rd – 9am – 1pm
